I was thrilled to attend this conference in my pajamas.  After browsing the titles, 0ne of them that caught my eye was “Googlios”.  The audio was a bit difficult to follow, but I was able to hear it and get the main ideas.  The conference was mainly about the evolution of the “folio” into Googlios which are much more interactive than traditional webfolios.  Additionally, Ambrose talked about using Googlios as a way of providing meaningful assesment for students.

In addition to that main idea there were two subpoints that he made that interested me.  For starters he references “The World is Flat” and “A Whole New Mind”.  He used these texts to talk about the digital divide and how the haves and the havenots will be on a more level playing field, it will be those who are not computer literate who will have difficulties.  I thought this was an interesting perspective.  I do not totally agree with him, I feel that the have nots will tend to fall into the digitally illiterate because of the lack of resources, but what I have seen that is promising is that my students from all backgrounds are strong at learning a new technology or website quickly.

The second point that Ambros made that struck me was the reference to Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy and how the different web 2.0 tools work in the different spheres.  For example, blogs and wikis are at the top under creating.  At the bottom under remembering there were sites like Del.icio.us and Diigo
